The host is very responsive and proactive in his communication with us. He picked us up from the train station even with short notice of our arrival time. The place is near to the shops, restaurants and the ferry. All within walking distance. And most of all, every window faces the lake. On our last day, there host informed us of train strike and offered alternative to get us to our next destination. Felt reassured with his arrangement. Great host and great place.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Pergola. We were met by Alberto at the train station who kindly guided us to the apartment, explained everything, and provided some great recommendations for our stay. The apartment is in an amazing location right on the water with beautiful views, and had everything we needed. Varenna is a beautiful town and was the perfect base to explore Lake Como. Peaceful and relaxing, we highly recommend this apartment for your trip to Varenna. Thank you Giorgio and Alberto.

Varenna comes close to being heaven on earth! Giorgio’s apartment is an absolute gem with the perfect location, perfect view and perfect amenities. Giorgio and Alberto are so friendly that we felt like family! Thank you for sharing your beautiful apartment and your beautiful town with us and we will definitely be back to experience it again!

The PERFECT place for us to be !!! First they picked us up from the train, which made our travels so easy. Then we saw the beautiful views of the lake from the windows and balcony. It was central to everything in Varenna. No more than a 5 minute walk to get to where we were going. It truly is right on the water as pictured and part of the landscape you see if you go out on a boat which was fun to point out to our friends who stayed elsewhere. Ferry was a 3 minute walk too which helped as that’s how we got around the lake to explore more. Thank you both!!!

Location… Location… Location!Casa Pergola was a very nice & clean apartment with everything we needed & more! Lorena met us at the town center, walked us to the apartment & explained how everything worked! They’ve thought of everything, right down to a container of fresh ground coffee & a bottle of wine! Wonderful new appliances including a brand new induction stove/oven and large drip coffee maker … the bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot, and the air conditioning worked great! This place is truly on the lake with incredible unobstructed views! We would definitely return & we highly recommend!

Giorgio goes above and beyond with his guests in Varenna, booking with him is a MUST. Most people get to Varenna off the train and have to wander into the city, they offer to pick you up or have their driver pick you up and show you around the town and they help check you in themselves. The place itself is UNREAL, right on the water, amazing sunsets, close walk to everything, and Giorgia and Lorenna have great recommendations for food and tours (we rented a boat)! Overall, I could not review Giorgio and his properties any higher, he is the best!

Giorgio and his son Alberto were the best hosts! We were picked up at the train station and taken straight to the apartment (this was truly appreciated). They have a store in town (just a few min walk from the apartment), so it is easy to communicate directly with them if needed.The apartment is lovely with the a sweet small patio for looking over the water and the promenade. Stores and restaurants close by. Extremely relaxing and beautiful setting. Bed and couch very comfortable. We would definitely come back here!

Amazing location in Varenna, gorgeous views of the lake, our kids especially loved that we were right above a gelato shop. We arrived by ferry and it was an easy 5 min walk along the lake to get to the apartment. One minor point - note that the AC unit is only in the living room and if you are traveling in the summer months, it is quite hot.

Giorgio and Alberto were absolutely fantastic. Alberto picked us up from the train station, while Giorgio drove us to the train station and even gave us a little tour of beautiful Varenna. They also gave our daughters a special keepsake and provided amazing recommendations for our stay in Milan. We already miss our time there and hope to return next year

This apartment is a dream. The location and view can't be beat. Varenna is a beautiful town with character and beauty. Everything was as advertised, and even better.

The perfect location to stay in in Varenna!! The views from the apartment are unmatched and we loved sitting on the balcony in the afternoon. It was a big apartment with lots of space, including a washing machine which was very helpful! Great walking distance to all restaurants and the ferry port. It was quiet in the evenings and Giorgio and his son made the checkin and pick up from the train station very easy! Would definitely stay again & recommend.

Casa Pergola is directly over a gelato shop on the shore of Lake Como. The all day views from our windows allowed fresh breezes and sounds of the lake waking up in the morning or going to sleep in the evening to filter thru our apartment.We found everything as listed in the listing, AC not needed, WiFi available, comfortable bed, Giorgio was responsive to questions. A selection of adapters for electronics were provided and the welcome book provided all the information needed for a pleasant stay. Varenna experienced a wicked storm our last evening, great viewing of the storm from our windows and when the area lost power we referenced the book and knew exactly what to do (and where) to restore power. The restaurant recommendations were spot on, we made reservations by walking to them and making the reservation for the following 2 days. Excellent choices. We loved Casa Pergola and really loved our early mornings and evenings in Varenna after the day trippers left…a magical time!

We loved our stay at Giorgio’s place in Varenna. The apartment’s location couldn’t be better - right on the water within a 1 minute walk of great cafes and restaurants and 3 minute walk to the ferry stop. The host met us in the main square and showed us where we could park our car for our stay which was very helpful, and gave us recommendations for local restaurants. The bed was comfortable and option of fan and air-conditioning a plus. The balcony was perfect for a sunset wine. We would definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Pergola. We had the most wonderful week and both Giorgio and Alberto were super helpful and friendly. The location is unbelievable and having 3 sets of french doors to open was a treat. Loved waking up each day to the views and every afternoon we sat on the balcony with our aperitivo watching the world go by. Would recommend this to anyone thinking of going to Varenna. It’s perfect!!

We absolutely enjoyed staying here! It is right on the water with an amazing view. It is only steps away from restaurants and there is gelato shops right under it. They were very kind to meet us at the train station and bring us to the place. Would definitely stay here again!

What wasn’t included in the description of Casa Pergola was the warmth and kindness that both Giorgio and Alberto extended to us. We were greeted at the train station with a friendly wave from Alberto and a ride to Casa Pergola. Our time here was magical. The apartment was spotless and the views could not be beat. It was quiet and private, and we felt very much at home. We were just steps from the ferry dock and the restaurants that were open during the off season were phenomenal! We look forward to returning! Gorgio met us in the square which was great because we had never been to Varenna and could’ve been confusing to find the apartment. The location is perfect! It’s literally in the middle of everything that you want to do! The apartment is exactly as pictured and we would definitely stay here again!

As a few previous reviews have said, the apartment is small and simple with a view of the lake in a central location. There are steep stairs to go down to the location/entrance of the apartment and the tub is high so the apartment is difficult for people with mobility issues. We also had problems with the Internet on several days, which made it difficult to work remotely. Giorgio and his family are nice and Varenna is beautiful.

Giorgio and his son Alberto were amazing!!! Alberto met us in the square to show us to our airbnb. He gave us a tour of our spot, as well as great recommendations to eat in Varenna. We loved their apartment, especially waking up each morning looking out the windows to the lake! We highly recommend staying here.

We had a delightful stay at Casa Pergola. The location on the lake in the town was beautiful and convenient. The apartment is spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated Alberto picking us up from the station and storing our luggage until we could catch the ferry.

The location is right on the lakefront and convenient to ferry, restaurants and shopping. The apartment was very clean, bed was comfortable and AC works great. We had a fabulous 5 nights at Casa Pergola. The view is stunning and our 6 year old loved having the gelateria right below. Lorena was a wonderful host, arranging us a booking at a local restaurant on the evening we arrived and also organising a transfer from the train station to the main square where she met us. Wonderful space and location if you want to truly experience Varenna. Surrounded by cafes, gelaterias and restaurants, this apartment is perfectly situated in the heart of Varenna, providing both access to amenities but also a quiet way to experience the village once the day tripping ferry crowd heads out. The hosts were wonderful in providing recommendations as well as helping secure boat rental to explore the lake. Look forward to our return visit!

Best view in Varenna. The patio overlooking Lago di Como was everything we expected. Place was clean and tidy with A/C that was great for the warm summer days. Fully equipped. This is the place to stay.

We had a great stay! We rented this place for the views and waterfront location. It did not disappoint! We spent every night on the terrace enjoying the amazing sunset. The apartment itself was adequate and simple. Giorgio and his son were very helpful and responsive. The town has a relaxed, slow pace type of vibe, which we welcomed and needed after sightseeing in Rome and Florence for a few days.

Staying here was a wonderful landing place for our Lake Como part of our honeymoon! Varenna is charming and was much more our speed for enjoying in the evenings after adventuring out during the day. The place was well kept and offered amazing views and people watching from the balcony. Giorgio even offered a lot of help when a landslide disrupted our plans for getting to Varenna. This was a great stay!

Location is stunning and place is well equipped with everything we needed. We did have an issue with the electricity one day but Giorgio and Alberto responded quickly and were able to fix it. Thanks for a beautiful getaway!

Giorgio and his son Alberto were such lovely and welcoming hosts! Our stay there was incredible, the views were immaculate! The rooms were large, the place was very well looked after and clean. We have to say though the balcony was the highlight for us! The apartment was situated in one of the best locations in all of Varenna. Every thing was in walking distance, the ferry was about a 5 minute walk, and there was also a gelato store directly underneath us that had the best gelato! You need to book this place, don’t think twice! Thank you guys so much for making our stay and experience memorable.

What a beautiful place. Varenna is stunning and the apartment is lovely and so well located to all of it. Giorgio is a fantastic host. We had a delay to our flight and with our hire car and Giorgio waited up until the early morning and still greeted us with a smile. A truly fantastic stay!

We so loved our first visit to Lake Como and Giorgio was an excellent and accessible host. His lakefront terrace views are almost too beautiful for words! The property is spacious in a central yet quiet location in the heart of Vernazza. It is one of the most perfect properties of the many we have had the good fortune to experience. It is all that is promised and more; you will not be disappointed!

The pictures do not do the views justice. Beautiful lake view from the apartment and private balcony. The host's son Alberto was very friendly and provided us a car ride from the train station which we greatly appreciated especially during a rainy day. He even let us borrow his umbrella to use during out stay. Very good location in the middle of Varenna, steps away from a good gelato shop and close to waterside cafes. The ferry station is a scenic 5 minute walk from the apartment. The apartment is as described and it was well equipped with everything you would need. The bathroom was spacious and the bedroom had plenty of storage space. We took off 1 star because the apartment was not as clean as we would have liked. It was surface clean but needed a good deep clean. Other than that, the apartment is very nice and the lake views were wonderful to wake up to.

Giorgios place was incredible the views from the room and veranda can not be beat. The only thing I have to say is the bed and pillows are a little uncomfortable not something that would stop me from staying here in the future. The host was responsive within minutes even at 6am when we had an outage due to a storm around the lake. 10/10 would recommend this place for your next visit to varenna.

This location is one of the best spots in all of Lake Como. It is lake front in the beautiful town of Varenna, and the pictures are exactly the same in person. The breeze off the lake into the apartment makes for an amazing and fresh experience. Additionally, you get an incredible private terrace that offers amazing views of the lake.The apartment was perfect size for my wife and me. Giorgio and his family were amazing hosts and we would recommend their properties to anyone. If you are debating between Varenna and other towns on the lake, I would highly recommend looking no further. You will not find a more authentic experience elsewhere, or a better location.We are incredibly happy we booked this place for our honeymoon, and will most certainly be back.

Fabulous place, half way between ferry depot & restaurants, views breath taking & on a practical note, the washing machine was great. We were a bit stressed about getting our bags out, as they were heavy with being away for a month. The hosts were great getting us in there & indicated they could help us get a taxi to the train station when leaving. However we had to try ourselves, had no luck & no success with very little communication from the hosts either. We ended up taking our half empty bags down the steps to the waterfront & repacking them in the dark at 6am & towing them up to the train station. So just a warning about staying there with heavy bags, as there are many uneven steep stairs. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms & a nice cafe table set on the balcony would be some other suggestions also

We need more stars to reflect how great a host Giorgio was! We were so well looked after! The location and view from this gorgeous little apartment is perfect!

I went on this trip with my mom and aunt and we had a great time! The view is amazing and the pictures do not do it justice! Giorgio and his son Alberto were very kind and responsive- will definitely stay here again.

Giorgio’s and Lorena’s home in Varenna exceeded our expectations. Lorena was extremely helpful and personally walked us to her home, got us settled and acquainted with the area, and booked us a dinner reservation. The unit itself was quite comfortable for our family of 4 (2 adults / 2 kids) and is in a fabulous location on Lake Como. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful stay at Giorgio’s apartment. The location couldn’t be any more convenient and the air conditioning worked great during extremely hot and humid days. The bedrooms are super quiet and very comfortable and clean, and even have ceiling fans to help keep the rooms cool during hot August days.The kitchen has everything you need for your stay, and there is even a washing machine in the apt and drying racks. The views are spectacular and it’s lovely to sit in the evening and watch the sunset. Traveling alone I felt very safe there and Giorgio and his wife Lorena were more than accommodating and caring from start to finish.The only thing is the bathroom needs some updating as there is some mold on the ceilings. But no other complaints! Highly recommend booking for your stay!

Beautiful Balcony apartment right in the heart of Varenna with easy access to everything plus easy ferry access to Bellagio and Mennagio. Excellent view of the lake and town.

You never know what to expect when renting a place online. Both Georgio & his son Alberto went above and beyond for everything we asked for. The cute, well appointed apartment was situated on the boardwalk overlooking Lake Como. Only steps to the boardwalk, coffee shops, breakfast, lunch & dinner spots, probably 20 within a 3 minute walk. There are a lot of steps in Varenna village which was no problem for us, very picturesque. You feel like you went back in time in this 1000 year old village. The main piazza is about 200 feet or steps above the lake. There are many shops in the Piazza and also many shops/restaurants on the lake walkway. Waking up in the morning and viewing the boats on Lake Como is so awesome. I don't think you could find a better place to stay and the hosts are the nicest people you'll ever meet. All around great place to stay if you have a couple of days in the Lake Como area. So many amazing restaurants just steps away and other convenient amenities. The house itself is very well-located and comfortable. Very near to the ferry terminal and the train station, so super convenient to travel to other towns while we were there. We were very happy here.

Wonderful location and hosts! The view Is absolutely stunning. It was wonderful sitting on the balcony watching the ferries pass and mountains. It was close to everything. And our hosts Giorgio and Alberto were so kind and helpful. Offering a bottle of wine and picking us up at the train station upon arrival. We would recommend the home to everyone.

We had a glorious stay at the apartment. Giorgio and Alberto were extremely communicative and flexible with our arrival time, which was earlier than planned. They met us at the train station, drove us to the apartment, and showed us everything we need to know to feel right at home immediately. The location could not have been better for us. The apartment is on the water with a lovely view, and just a few steps from some of the best food available in Varenna. it was a great value, and we had an amazing stay.

Do not hesitate to book this apartment. I cannot say enough good things about the location and the view in this place. The apartment was spotless when we arrived and Lorena and Giorgio go out of their way to respond quickly and are so helpful! This apartment is usually booked so it was a miracle we were able to rent it. Beware of the stairs in Varenna. If you have difficulty with that this town is going to be difficult to manage. One thing that is helpful is coming in to the ferry parking lot and rolling your luggage to the apartment where there is only 18 steps up to the apartment.

Giorgio was an amazing host! He made us feel so welcome and helped us with any requests. The location was superb. It was the perfect home base to explore the surrounding areas via train and ferry. We so enjoyed also walking around the beautiful town of Varrena and exploring Giorgio‘s shops and eating at his recommended restaurants.. Would highly recommend.

What a wonderful place to stay in Varenna! Such gorgeous views and in the heart of everything! Wonderful!

Giorgio and Alberto went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Alberto even assisted us to get our luggage (we packed too much and had a rented vehicle) to and from the apartment. The location was within 60 seconds of three gelateria and multiple restaurants serving amazing pizza and other items. The service in the restaurants and bars was amazing (especially when we used our limited but appreciated Italian). The availability of the Lake Como ferries (auto and passenger-only) made getting to multiple amazing locations quite easy. Our only problem was the fact that we needed to leave!! We’d return in a heartbeat.

What a delightful place! Comfortable, convenient, they met us at the train station and personally showed us to and around the apartment. We had everything we needed.

Varenna is such a beautiful destination and Giorgio’s place allows you to marvel at the view for as long as you want. His son Alberto kindly collected us from the train station and gave us an orientation of Varenna and the accommodation, and also helped us with our luggage. Giorgio’s place is comfortable and have I mentioned the view!!Although late September there were still many tourists in town and some restaurants were already booked so do your research and book ahead. Also make the effort to walk up to Castello Vezio and pay the €5 entrance fee - the view is stunning!

Perfectly-located apartment overlooking the water- you cant get a better view in Varenna!The ac’s worked great, which we really appreciated in the heat wave!Would advise packing light, as you do need to climb stairs to gather there (like any small Italian village, very typical).Overall, we really loved Varenna and this apartment was perfect for our needs

We loved our time here.The views and walkability are first rate. AC in August was good if you remember to take the reasonable step of keeping shutters closed during heat of afternoon. Varenna is well located to take ferries around the lake; and, we could walk to the terminal, buy a ticket and be seated on a ferry within 10 min of leaving the apartment. Swimming, boat rentals, hiking, restaurants all wonderful. Really nice to have a clothes washer in the place.Small hot water heater meant we had to plan showers very carefully for our family of three. The furniture, particularly one bed and the living room seating, needs updating.

Giorgio’s place was exactly as pictured. The view is actually better than pictures and better than anything you could imagine. Breathtaking!! Very peaceful place but also right in the middle of everything and convenient. Alberto was very helpful while helping us check in and also helped us with our bags. I would definitely recommend this place and would return in the future.

Absolutely beautiful little apartment with a spectacular view. The balcony is a 10/10! We really appreciated Alberto’s help when we arrived. The beds are comfortable and the neighbourhood was very quiet in the evening. Bonus- excellent gelato at the bottom of the steps.

This is a fabulous location, Varenna and Giorgio's place - spectacular view; nice notebook left by host on local restaurants, etc. Giorgio was very accommodating when the train we had planned to arrive on was unable to travel due to a landslide, closing all trains to Varenna. Alerted us to the situation (he knew we were arriving by train) and then helped us know our options - we really appreciated this - I consider this above an beyond and thus am a big fan of Giorgio. The landslide delayed our planned arrival time by 2.5 hours as we had to get off the train at a different spot and take a ferry for the rest of the way - and Giorgio again very accommodating. I have only good things to say about Giorgio, Varenna and the location/view of this stunning property. I would encourage a better clean/repair of the bathroom - toilet seat was broken when we arrived and there is a quite a bit of mold in the shower/bathroom; also small hot water tank so quick showers are the rule.

Our stay at casa balcone was something out of a dream! The views and location were incredible. When you stay at casa balcone you get an authentic experience and you feel like a local! Giorgio and Alberto were the best hosts, and truly made you feel like family. They were extremely responsive and even helped us organize a taxi for when we arrived, and for another time when our plans for public transportation fell through. The apartment itself was somehow even better than the photos portrayed, which I didn’t think was possible. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this airbnb to all my family and friends!

A wonderful stay. The accommodation is exceptional, and the views are absolutely extraordinary. We were picked up from the train station and really went above and beyond to make sure we were properly settled in- she even helped us with restaurant bookings. Her recommendations were perfect. Can I give more stars please? This was by far the most beautiful Airbnb that I’ve ever stayed in. There’s not much I can say that others haven’t said before me. The location is something out of a dream. I almost didn’t want to leave the apartment it was that beautiful. But I think my favorite part of the experience were the hosts… Giorgio and Alberto were the most gracious hosts that I’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with. I am a solo female traveling from the United States so it was a slightly intimidating experience for me, but my hosts made me feel like family. I can’t recommend this rental enough.

We had a wonderful stay! The apartment is in a great location - on the waterfront with incredible views of the lake, an easy walk to the ferry to travel to different towns around Lake Como, and an easy walk to the train station to go to Milan. Lorena and Georgio are excellent hosts that go above and beyond. Very responsive to any of our inquiries. They helped to arrange a taxi service to and from the airport, provided local restaurant recommendations, and greeted us in the town square when we arrived. We would not hesitate to rent from them again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Balcone. The location was perfect, right above the waterfront walkway with restaurants and cafes below. It was spacious, toasty warm in Winter, quiet and very comfortable. Sitting on the lounge we looked across Lake Como to the snow capped Alps. Giorgio was extremely kind to us, organising a friend to meet us at the station to take us to the apartment on Christmas Day. And on another day he drove us to a nearby town to the supermarket. We highly recommend staying at Casa Balcone!

Perfect balcony apartment overlooking the lake and a very charming part of Varenna. Has everything you need for an extended stay. Best gelato in town right below and wonderful restaurants all around. Hosts are top notch and looking forward to another visit!

This place is truly magic. We were so lucky to find a vacancy. Great service from Giorgio and Alberto, too!

What a beautiful spot! Amazing apartment in the heart of Varenna. If you’re bringing large cases, be mindful of the steps and the cobbled streets to get there, but once you do, it will be worth it. The host has ten apartments in the area and runs the business with a hospitality first mindset.

Giorgio’s apartment is everything and more. The views are worth the stay alone but everything else about the apartment was amazing as well. Giorgio is so friendly and even helped us store our luggage for a few hours before it was time to head to our next location. Highly recommend this stay!

Believe everything you read about this perfectly located, lovingly maintained right-on-the-lake apartment. You are greeted like family and welcomed into the most enviable location in Ravenna. Giorgio and Alberto provide a wealth of helpful information and respond immediately if you have any questions. Easy to walk to the ferry, train station, and restaurants. Do not have one negative. Hope to stay again. Varenna is the perfect base from which to see the Como areas.

The view!Great location with amazing views of Lake Como. Giorgio and Lorena made checking in easy with their proactive communication. They met us at Piazza San Giorgio and helped us with our bags. Always appreciated given all the stairs in Varenna. Not to mention we were traveling with our 5 month old baby!Did I mention the view?The apartment was spacious. We enjoyed spending time on the small balcony while soaking in the amazing view of the Lake.Locations is perfect. Short walk to a bunch of great restaurants and the ferry dock. Lorena was even able to get us a last minute reservation at Al Prato.Did I mention the view yet?😂Alberto, Giorgio’s son, helped us during check out. He was kind enough to help us with our bags and even gave us a ride to the train station.Oh, and the view!😂We’re looking forward to staying at Giorgio’s place again. Grazie mille!

A lovely apartment, with an amazing balcony view. Giorgio and Lorena were fantastic hosts who were very helpful throughout our stay, helped us with luggage on arrival, made a dinner reservation for us as well as assisting us with a taxi to the train station on departure. The apartment had everything we needed staying there with two small children.

We had an amazing stay at Giorgio's place! The view was our primary reason for booking and it is even better than the photos. It was great to wake up every morning and have coffee/breakfast out on the patio with incredible views.The home itself was clean and comfortable. The A/C worked well, beds were comfy, and there was plenty of space. Giorgio and Alberto were always quick to respond, including helping us quickly when I accidentlly left my car keys in the home after checkout.The location is great, not just the view but also quick easy access to restaurants, the lake front, and lover's walk. Plus a gelato shop right downstairs!

The first thing that comes to mind is stunning views (from the Airbnb). Giorgio was so accommodating! We didn’t know we were arriving on a day of a festival, which meant heavy traffic. Regardless, he coordinated a pick up from the train station and his son, Alberto helped us with our bags. Alberto shared his restaurant and gelato recommendations that did not disappoint. And back to the stunning views, there was a fireworks show that we can had front row seats to with the amazing view from Giorgio’s place. Definitely would recommend!

We had a fantastic time in Giorgio's place, himself and Lorena were very helpful and we strongly recommend the place. The view is one of the best in Verenna and everything is walking distance from the apartment, including the Ferry. Do not hesitate to book the place if you want to have a great experience in Como Lake!

We loved it here! Couldn’t get a better location, clean and comfortable apartment with the best views in Varenna. The host was lovely- he even picked us up from the train station which was so appreciated. Highly recommend!

“Is this place like a poem?” One may ask… after a brief stay, we would definitely say “YES”! The “red” cottage commands one of the best location in Varenna. Greeted by the morning breeze, this place wakes to prepare for the ones who would either be enchanted by the meandering alleys or indulge in glasses of icy cold spritz; if not overwhelmed by the bona vista of the lake. Viewing sunset on the balcony is a must-do, or else one may miss out on the most memorable palette of this beloved lake. The above not only makes one relaxed, but also creates memories that would last a lifetime! The pain of departing is inevitably there…only to be healed by returning.

Awful experience. Terrible host, refused to communicate with me. No shampoo or body soap even when he listed it as an amenity. I begged for towels, we had a wedding and Only had 2 towels for 3 people.I booked this apartment for 3 people and they only prepared for 2.

The location was incredible. The views, the surroundings were and are picturesque. Varenna’s charm is with the people of the town and matched by its romantic surroundings. Giorgio’s accommodations allowed my family to bask in Varenna’s beauty and when our time had concluded, we were saddened to go but enriched by our experiences.

Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Beautiful location on the water, but high enough to escape the crowds. Pristine condition with amazing views! Walk or ferry everywhere! Your kindness with picking us up in the rain, walking us to the apartment and getting last minute dinner reservations will be forever meaningful.

If you’re planning a visit to Varenna on Lake Como, you should rent Giorgio’s apartment. *The location is perfect. It’s on the water. It may have the best views. *Giorgio’s son picked us up from the train station and helped us get checked in. *apartment was clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. *Ferry and train station are in close walking distance: Overall, you can’t go wrong. Book Giorgio’s place!

Georgio's apartment is located in a very central location in Varenna. The apartment is just steps away from many lovely restaurants and within walking distance to/from the ferry terminal and train station. The apartment had all the amenities we needed, and the beds and pillows were extremely comfy. While in Varenna we took the ferry to Belagio and Como - both very easy day trips from Georgio's apartment. Our very favorite amenity was the view of the lake and mountains from the balcony. Many thanks to Georgio and his son for being flexible w/our arrival time and rescuing us from the rain! We highly recommend Georgio's apartment when searching for a comfortable place to enjoy Varenna.

I will definitely be back there again and refer family and friends! The appointment has view that was absolutely amazing I mean like out of this world but most importantly the host and his son were incredible! Thank you so much. We’ll see you soon! Sophia L.

Clean and well-equipped apartment with comfortable beds and nice linen. Five minutes’ walk to ferries and 15 minutes to the station. The absolute highlight was the views, which were blissful. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down over the mountains while boats zig zagged across the lake. A very special location in a beautiful part of the world.

the location of this apartment is perfect and the balcony has the best view in Varenna! the apartment itself was clean (laundry was a plus) and safe for female travelers. giorgio and his son helped my friends carry their bags up the stairs, and were responsive hosts who provided great recommendations for the area.

A beautiful setting literally on/over the lake in Varenna. You are looking across the lake through French doors from the living room and while drinking a morning coffee in bed ! Apartment requires a 5 minute walk through a cobble-stoned pedestrian-only area to reach but our host was waiting in the Piazza to meet our vehicle on arrival and assist with getting our luggage to the apartment. Location is within a 5 minute walk of everything in the beautiful village of Varenna and the ferry wharf to explore other towns on the lake. Apartment was super clean and functional. Varenna is a great base to explore Lake Como and I would recommend this place without a moment’s hesitation. Thanks Giorgio

This apartment has the most amazing view, probably the best in all of Varenna. Check in was easy with clear instructions. The apartment was clean and had all amenities we needed, including air conditioning. It was so nice waking up to the most beautiful view every morning. We spent so much time just sitting on the balcony drinking wine and looking at all the people walking along the boardwalk. I could not recommend this place more.

This apartment was perfect. Wonderful location, amazing views, beautiful apartment. Giorgio and Lorena were so helpful and kind. They picked us up at the train station - what an amazing introduction to Varenna. We would stay here again and again.

If you do only one thing while in Lake Como, do yourself a favor and book this place. Absolutely stunning views - the photos don't do it justice. A friendly and responsive host, and Varenna is the most beautiful little town far superior to Bellagio or Menaggio. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Casa Varenna! Communication was excellent and Alberto met us at the ferry so we were sure not to get lost trying to find the place. The views from the balcony were incredible and the apartment was clean, well appointed, and so convenient to everything! I forgot a beach towel but the main store offers a 20% discount for Giorgio’s renters, which was a nice perk. There were some hot days so the AC in the master and main area was appreciated - unfortunately there was no AC in the second bedroom but it was manageable. The washer and other appliances were all in excellent condition. We would definitely return!

The location was everything! The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Owner was very helpful.

Giorgio and his son Alberto were wonderful hosts! We were picked up at the train station and were able to check in early! You can not ask for a better location or view! They helped us store our bags and get a taxi back to the station. It was a great home base for exploring the area for a few nights.

We had a wonderful stay! Giorgio is a very responsive host. Due to a landslide the train was not operating all the way to Varenna so we had to take a bus from La Spezia. When the bus dropped us off in Bellona instead of Varenna, Giorgio sent his son Alberto to pick us up. He was there within minutes. Alberto helped with our luggage and showed us around the apartment. The apartment was spotless and well equipped with everything we needed. There is an information booklet with instructions (that includes photos), rules and suggestions which was very helpful. The apartment is in an ideal location. It’s close to restaurants and all the action as well as just above the best Gelato shop. Since it’s on the third floor we did not have any noise issues even with all the activity below us. We enjoyed sitting on the balconies and spent a great deal of time there. We were very happy with our stay and highly recommend the apartment and host. Thank you so much!

Lorena and Giorgio were so helpful to us before our arrival to help us maneuver around the problems with the closed train stop due to the avalanche. They arranged a taxi to pick us up to continue our travel to their place. Lorena gave us a warm welcome after a long journey and told us the highlights of the area. We would definitely recommend this apartment. The views from the balcony are wonderful!

Casa Veranda was perfect for us. Great location although a lot of steps but hey that’s Italy. Waking up to that view every morning was very special and a big thank you to Alberto for picking us up at the station and helping with our ridiculous amount of luggage. Highly recommend.

This apartment is amazing. The location can’t be beat in Varenna with easy access to everything and amazing views of beautiful lake Como. The apartment is well appointed and very clean! Georgio and Leona are the best Airbnb hosts we have ever had! They sent a car to meet us at the train station (we were late but they adjusted) and then met us in the piazza to escort us to the apartment. Leona helped with a dinner reservation right away and made sure we were comfortable in the apartment before leaving us. She even helped us arrange a private driver to Lugano. If you’re visiting Varenna, this is a great spot to spend your evenings and you’ll be well cared for by your hosts!

Our stay at Giorgio’s apartment was a dream! His son Alberto picked us up from the train station to take us to the apartment, which was extremely helpful (and he gave us tons of great recommendations of things to do/restaurants to eat at while in town). The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Hands down, the best feature was the gorgeous balcony (which we spent hours having breakfast/aperitivo on). Even more beautiful than the pictures. I would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Como/Varenna. We could not have asked for anything more perfect for our first time on the lake.

I rely heavily on reviews when making travel plans. Giorgio checked every box and more.Our train was late, yet Giorgio secured timely, reliable transportation to pick us up before guiding us along the beautiful cobblestone to the most beautiful place in Varenna. I dropped my bags and made my way through the double glass doors. Stepping onto the balcony, the view was unlike anything I had seen before. He told us all that we needed to know to enjoy our time in Varenna. The photos do not do this place justice. It was absolutely perfect in every way. We didn’t spend much time indoors but the space was exactly what we needed when we did. Windows and doors open to the balcony from the main living area and the master. Each morning I opened my eyes to the most amazing view without lifting my head from the pillow. It was perfection. The people were kind and the food was divine. I cannot wait to return.

Giorgio and Lorena welcomed us personally and even arranged a taxi pickup for us from malpensa airport. they were gracious hosts and gave us a lot of valuable information. this rental unit is literally over the water and you will see it on many postcards of Varenna. it was minutes away from several restaurants, gelateria, and a bottega where we bought fresh fruits and yogurt. i would not hesitate to book this rental. thank you Giorgio and Lorena!

The apartment views are stunning. It is located in the city center and a short walk to the ferry. The building heating is turned down at night so do bring layers if you plan to stay in February. The WiFi was not reliable. This was addressed to the host and he tried to correct it. I definitely recommend this apartment.

Giorgio’s place in Varenna is in the most darling town in the most perfect location. The view is extraordinary, and you are steps from everything. We loved it so much. It was so comfortable with modern amenities but also so very charming. We would love to stay again.

This unit was a perfect place to use as a “home” while visiting the Lake Como area. We especially enjoyed the view and location within Varenna. The ride from the train station at check in was an extra we appreciated. Antonio was also very helpful with a restaurant reservation. Highly recommend.

Loved the town! Owners were very nice. Check-in was prompt. Apartment has an incredible view. Very clean. Nice balcony overlooking the lake and beyond. Felt private. Bed was extremely comfy. All small and large appliances were clean and up to date. The owners helped us make restaurant reservations and the food was delicious. Decor was not to our liking but the view outweighed the decor. Would recommend this apartment.

This flat was perfect. It's a great location with a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. Opening the windows and looking out over the lake in the morning was something out of a fairy tale. Having said that - the quality of the flat was actually surpassed by the quality of the hosts. Giorgio and his wife met us in the town square and walked us to the flat for a nice, easy check in. Their recommendations for food and activities in the area were absolute GOLD. I found myself asking them for a recommendation every day because they were always spot on. They even gifted us some wine and cheese. On our last night there they actually invited us to join them out for dinner at a local spot a few towns away and that was perfect as well. If you book this air bnb you're not just getting a great place to stay, but a pair of excellent local guides and some friends as well.

We had a wonderful stay at Giorgio's lovely apartment. The views were amazing and my 6 year old was thrilled about the gelato shop downstairs.Giorgio was so responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. His son, Alberto, met us at the ferry and walked us to the apartment. Alberto had some excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities.

This apartment was perfect in every way: extremely clean, perfect location in the middle of everything (but yet very quiet), gorgeous view with a balcony to sit and enjoy it from, and air conditioning AND fans! Although we never cooked, it was nice to have a full kitchen with dishwasher and a large refrigerator. We were there during the start of a heat wave, and we were so relieved to have the A/C and fans so we had a respite from the heat during the day, and it was always very comfortable to sleep at night. Check-in was very easy (meeting in person at a nearby location), and communication with Giorgio and his son, Alberto, was always very prompt when we had any questions. I wouldn't stay anywhere else! Thank you, Giorgio and Alberto, for an amazing stay!

Giorgio’s place is perfect! You can stop looking further because it doesn’t get any better. The view of Lake Como from the balcony, your bed and the living area is magnificent. You are literally right on the lake. The location is convenient to everything, restaurants, shops, the waterfront, the square and the best gelato is right below the apartment. The ferry is a 5 min walk and the train is only 10 min away. Giorgio has two shops in town, a jewelry shop which is not to be missed and has the most exquisite and unique jewelry. The other shop has leather products, silk scarves, ponchos and other great little gifts. Giorgio’s son was kind enough to pick us up from the train station, which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. We enjoyed all of our time in Varenna but Giorgio’s hospitality made it the highlight and perfect ending to our holiday!

A perfect place to stay in Varenna. Our stay couldn’t have been any better. The apartment was spotless and the view was amazing! I hope to return to Varenna in the future and would gladly stay in this apartment again.
