“Casa Veranda” Apartment

Giorgio’s place was a great choice. The apartment was really nice with spectacular views of the lake and other towns. His Son Alberto was very nice and friendly. He pick us up from the train station and took us to the apartment. He showed us some restaurants and stores and made some recommendations. We will love to stay again on our next trip to Varenna.

The view from this place was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed being able to sit outside looking over the lake.

We had an amazing stay at Giorgio's place! The view was our primary reason for booking and it is even better than the photos. It was great to wake up every morning and have coffee/breakfast out on the patio with incredible views.The home itself was clean and comfortable. The A/C worked well, beds were comfy, and there was plenty of space. Giorgio and Alberto were always quick to respond, including helping us quickly when I accidentlly left my car keys in the home after checkout.The location is great, not just the view but also quick easy access to restaurants, the lake front, and lover's walk. Plus a gelato shop right downstairs!

The first thing that comes to mind is stunning views (from the Airbnb). Giorgio was so accommodating! We didn’t know we were arriving on a day of a festival, which meant heavy traffic. Regardless, he coordinated a pick up from the train station and his son, Alberto helped us with our bags. Alberto shared his restaurant and gelato recommendations that did not disappoint. And back to the stunning views, there was a fireworks show that we can had front row seats to with the amazing view from Giorgio’s place. Definitely would recommend!

We had a fantastic time in Giorgio's place, himself and Lorena were very helpful and we strongly recommend the place. The view is one of the best in Verenna and everything is walking distance from the apartment, including the Ferry. Do not hesitate to book the place if you want to have a great experience in Como Lake!

“Is this place like a poem?” One may ask… after a brief stay, we would definitely say “YES”! The “red” cottage commands one of the best location in Varenna. Greeted by the morning breeze, this place wakes to prepare for the ones who would either be enchanted by the meandering alleys or indulge in glasses of icy cold spritz; if not overwhelmed by the bona vista of the lake. Viewing sunset on the balcony is a must-do, or else one may miss out on the most memorable palette of this beloved lake. The above not only makes one relaxed, but also creates memories that would last a lifetime! The pain of departing is inevitably there…only to be healed by returning.

Awful experience. Terrible host, refused to communicate with me. No shampoo or body soap even when he listed it as an amenity. I begged for towels, we had a wedding and Only had 2 towels for 3 people.I booked this apartment for 3 people and they only prepared for 2.

The location was incredible. The views, the surroundings were and are picturesque. Varenna’s charm is with the people of the town and matched by its romantic surroundings. Giorgio’s accommodations allowed my family to bask in Varenna’s beauty and when our time had concluded, we were saddened to go but enriched by our experiences.

Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Beautiful location on the water, but high enough to escape the crowds. Pristine condition with amazing views! Walk or ferry everywhere! Your kindness with picking us up in the rain, walking us to the apartment and getting last minute dinner reservations will be forever meaningful.

If you’re planning a visit to Varenna on Lake Como, you should rent Giorgio’s apartment. *The location is perfect. It’s on the water. It may have the best views. *Giorgio’s son picked us up from the train station and helped us get checked in. *apartment was clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. *Ferry and train station are in close walking distance: Overall, you can’t go wrong. Book Giorgio’s place!

Georgio's apartment is located in a very central location in Varenna. The apartment is just steps away from many lovely restaurants and within walking distance to/from the ferry terminal and train station. The apartment had all the amenities we needed, and the beds and pillows were extremely comfy. While in Varenna we took the ferry to Belagio and Como - both very easy day trips from Georgio's apartment. Our very favorite amenity was the view of the lake and mountains from the balcony. Many thanks to Georgio and his son for being flexible w/our arrival time and rescuing us from the rain! We highly recommend Georgio's apartment when searching for a comfortable place to enjoy Varenna.

I will definitely be back there again and refer family and friends! The appointment has view that was absolutely amazing I mean like out of this world but most importantly the host and his son were incredible! Thank you so much. We’ll see you soon! Sophia L.

Clean and well-equipped apartment with comfortable beds and nice linen. Five minutes’ walk to ferries and 15 minutes to the station. The absolute highlight was the views, which were blissful. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down over the mountains while boats zig zagged across the lake. A very special location in a beautiful part of the world.

the location of this apartment is perfect and the balcony has the best view in Varenna! the apartment itself was clean (laundry was a plus) and safe for female travelers. giorgio and his son helped my friends carry their bags up the stairs, and were responsive hosts who provided great recommendations for the area.

A beautiful setting literally on/over the lake in Varenna. You are looking across the lake through French doors from the living room and while drinking a morning coffee in bed ! Apartment requires a 5 minute walk through a cobble-stoned pedestrian-only area to reach but our host was waiting in the Piazza to meet our vehicle on arrival and assist with getting our luggage to the apartment. Location is within a 5 minute walk of everything in the beautiful village of Varenna and the ferry wharf to explore other towns on the lake. Apartment was super clean and functional. Varenna is a great base to explore Lake Como and I would recommend this place without a moment’s hesitation. Thanks Giorgio

This apartment has the most amazing view, probably the best in all of Varenna. Check in was easy with clear instructions. The apartment was clean and had all amenities we needed, including air conditioning. It was so nice waking up to the most beautiful view every morning. We spent so much time just sitting on the balcony drinking wine and looking at all the people walking along the boardwalk. I could not recommend this place more.

This apartment was perfect. Wonderful location, amazing views, beautiful apartment. Giorgio and Lorena were so helpful and kind. They picked us up at the train station - what an amazing introduction to Varenna. We would stay here again and again.

If you do only one thing while in Lake Como, do yourself a favor and book this place. Absolutely stunning views - the photos don't do it justice. A friendly and responsive host, and Varenna is the most beautiful little town far superior to Bellagio or Menaggio. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Casa Varenna! Communication was excellent and Alberto met us at the ferry so we were sure not to get lost trying to find the place. The views from the balcony were incredible and the apartment was clean, well appointed, and so convenient to everything! I forgot a beach towel but the main store offers a 20% discount for Giorgio’s renters, which was a nice perk. There were some hot days so the AC in the master and main area was appreciated - unfortunately there was no AC in the second bedroom but it was manageable. The washer and other appliances were all in excellent condition. We would definitely return!

The location was everything! The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Owner was very helpful.

Giorgio and his son Alberto were wonderful hosts! We were picked up at the train station and were able to check in early! You can not ask for a better location or view! They helped us store our bags and get a taxi back to the station. It was a great home base for exploring the area for a few nights.

We had a wonderful stay! Giorgio is a very responsive host. Due to a landslide the train was not operating all the way to Varenna so we had to take a bus from La Spezia. When the bus dropped us off in Bellona instead of Varenna, Giorgio sent his son Alberto to pick us up. He was there within minutes. Alberto helped with our luggage and showed us around the apartment. The apartment was spotless and well equipped with everything we needed. There is an information booklet with instructions (that includes photos), rules and suggestions which was very helpful. The apartment is in an ideal location. It’s close to restaurants and all the action as well as just above the best Gelato shop. Since it’s on the third floor we did not have any noise issues even with all the activity below us. We enjoyed sitting on the balconies and spent a great deal of time there. We were very happy with our stay and highly recommend the apartment and host. Thank you so much!

Lorena and Giorgio were so helpful to us before our arrival to help us maneuver around the problems with the closed train stop due to the avalanche. They arranged a taxi to pick us up to continue our travel to their place. Lorena gave us a warm welcome after a long journey and told us the highlights of the area. We would definitely recommend this apartment. The views from the balcony are wonderful!

Casa Veranda was perfect for us. Great location although a lot of steps but hey that’s Italy. Waking up to that view every morning was very special and a big thank you to Alberto for picking us up at the station and helping with our ridiculous amount of luggage. Highly recommend.

This apartment is amazing. The location can’t be beat in Varenna with easy access to everything and amazing views of beautiful lake Como. The apartment is well appointed and very clean! Georgio and Leona are the best Airbnb hosts we have ever had! They sent a car to meet us at the train station (we were late but they adjusted) and then met us in the piazza to escort us to the apartment. Leona helped with a dinner reservation right away and made sure we were comfortable in the apartment before leaving us. She even helped us arrange a private driver to Lugano. If you’re visiting Varenna, this is a great spot to spend your evenings and you’ll be well cared for by your hosts!

Our stay at Giorgio’s apartment was a dream! His son Alberto picked us up from the train station to take us to the apartment, which was extremely helpful (and he gave us tons of great recommendations of things to do/restaurants to eat at while in town). The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Hands down, the best feature was the gorgeous balcony (which we spent hours having breakfast/aperitivo on). Even more beautiful than the pictures. I would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Como/Varenna. We could not have asked for anything more perfect for our first time on the lake.

I rely heavily on reviews when making travel plans. Giorgio checked every box and more.Our train was late, yet Giorgio secured timely, reliable transportation to pick us up before guiding us along the beautiful cobblestone to the most beautiful place in Varenna. I dropped my bags and made my way through the double glass doors. Stepping onto the balcony, the view was unlike anything I had seen before. He told us all that we needed to know to enjoy our time in Varenna. The photos do not do this place justice. It was absolutely perfect in every way. We didn’t spend much time indoors but the space was exactly what we needed when we did. Windows and doors open to the balcony from the main living area and the master. Each morning I opened my eyes to the most amazing view without lifting my head from the pillow. It was perfection. The people were kind and the food was divine. I cannot wait to return.

Giorgio and Lorena welcomed us personally and even arranged a taxi pickup for us from malpensa airport. they were gracious hosts and gave us a lot of valuable information. this rental unit is literally over the water and you will see it on many postcards of Varenna. it was minutes away from several restaurants, gelateria, and a bottega where we bought fresh fruits and yogurt. i would not hesitate to book this rental. thank you Giorgio and Lorena!

The apartment views are stunning. It is located in the city center and a short walk to the ferry. The building heating is turned down at night so do bring layers if you plan to stay in February. The WiFi was not reliable. This was addressed to the host and he tried to correct it. I definitely recommend this apartment.

Giorgio’s place in Varenna is in the most darling town in the most perfect location. The view is extraordinary, and you are steps from everything. We loved it so much. It was so comfortable with modern amenities but also so very charming. We would love to stay again.

This unit was a perfect place to use as a “home” while visiting the Lake Como area. We especially enjoyed the view and location within Varenna. The ride from the train station at check in was an extra we appreciated. Antonio was also very helpful with a restaurant reservation. Highly recommend.

Loved the town! Owners were very nice. Check-in was prompt. Apartment has an incredible view. Very clean. Nice balcony overlooking the lake and beyond. Felt private. Bed was extremely comfy. All small and large appliances were clean and up to date. The owners helped us make restaurant reservations and the food was delicious. Decor was not to our liking but the view outweighed the decor. Would recommend this apartment.

This flat was perfect. It's a great location with a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. Opening the windows and looking out over the lake in the morning was something out of a fairy tale. Having said that - the quality of the flat was actually surpassed by the quality of the hosts. Giorgio and his wife met us in the town square and walked us to the flat for a nice, easy check in. Their recommendations for food and activities in the area were absolute GOLD. I found myself asking them for a recommendation every day because they were always spot on. They even gifted us some wine and cheese. On our last night there they actually invited us to join them out for dinner at a local spot a few towns away and that was perfect as well. If you book this air bnb you're not just getting a great place to stay, but a pair of excellent local guides and some friends as well.

We had a wonderful stay at Giorgio's lovely apartment. The views were amazing and my 6 year old was thrilled about the gelato shop downstairs.Giorgio was so responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. His son, Alberto, met us at the ferry and walked us to the apartment. Alberto had some excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities.

This apartment was perfect in every way: extremely clean, perfect location in the middle of everything (but yet very quiet), gorgeous view with a balcony to sit and enjoy it from, and air conditioning AND fans! Although we never cooked, it was nice to have a full kitchen with dishwasher and a large refrigerator. We were there during the start of a heat wave, and we were so relieved to have the A/C and fans so we had a respite from the heat during the day, and it was always very comfortable to sleep at night. Check-in was very easy (meeting in person at a nearby location), and communication with Giorgio and his son, Alberto, was always very prompt when we had any questions. I wouldn't stay anywhere else! Thank you, Giorgio and Alberto, for an amazing stay!

Giorgio’s place is perfect! You can stop looking further because it doesn’t get any better. The view of Lake Como from the balcony, your bed and the living area is magnificent. You are literally right on the lake. The location is convenient to everything, restaurants, shops, the waterfront, the square and the best gelato is right below the apartment. The ferry is a 5 min walk and the train is only 10 min away. Giorgio has two shops in town, a jewelry shop which is not to be missed and has the most exquisite and unique jewelry. The other shop has leather products, silk scarves, ponchos and other great little gifts. Giorgio’s son was kind enough to pick us up from the train station, which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. We enjoyed all of our time in Varenna but Giorgio’s hospitality made it the highlight and perfect ending to our holiday!

A perfect place to stay in Varenna. Our stay couldn’t have been any better. The apartment was spotless and the view was amazing! I hope to return to Varenna in the future and would gladly stay in this apartment again.
