Great place

Giorgio’s place was a great choice. The apartment was really nice with spectacular views of the lake and other towns. His Son Alberto was very nice and friendly. He pick us up from the train station and took us to the apartment. He showed us some restaurants and stores and made some recommendations. We will love to stay again on our next trip to Varenna.

Amazing location right on the lake and near to the town square with cafes and restaurants. Walking distance to both the ferry terminal and train station. The place was perfect for our family of 4 although there were some steep stairs that is expected of Varenna. The complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely touch!

Beautiful home in a beautiful place! Giorgio, is an amazing host and person! We truly loved every moment of our stay here and will definitely come back! I highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it.

This unit is not what is being described......we were very dissatisfied as we felt we did not get what was advertised!

The location & view are what made us book, & they lived up to our expectations! All the amenities we needed were there, and we were pleasantly surprised to find the tiles in the living room feel heated, keeping you warm & cozy even with a cool breeze blowing in the windows. Tons of space to make yourself feel at home. Giorgio’s son picked us up from the station & helped get our bags to the door. Many restaurants were <100 ft from the front door, & a yummy gelato place is downstairs. A pharmacy, cafe, ATM, & post office were also within a 2 min walk (town is super tiny, and quiet so no noise complaints).We visited when it was still the “off season” and found that many restaurants were still closed for the winter or had inaccurate hours posted. Many that were open stopped sitting tables by 5pm, which was our only frustration, as we only discovered this when the small grocery stores were closed for the day. This is no knock on Giorgio’s place, though, & we’d definitely stay again!

Fabulous place, half way between ferry depot & restaurants, views breath taking & on a practical note, the washing machine was great. We were a bit stressed about getting our bags out, as they were heavy with being away for a month. The hosts were great getting us in there & indicated they could help us get a taxi to the train station when leaving. However we had to try ourselves, had no luck & no success with very little communication from the hosts either. We ended up taking our half empty bags down the steps to the waterfront & repacking them in the dark at 6am & towing them up to the train station. So just a warning about staying there with heavy bags, as there are many uneven steep stairs. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms & a nice cafe table set on the balcony would be some other suggestions also

The host is very responsive and proactive in his communication with us. He picked us up from the train station even with short notice of our arrival time. The place is near to the shops, restaurants and the ferry. All within walking distance. And most of all, every window faces the lake. On our last day, there host informed us of train strike and offered alternative to get us to our next destination. Felt reassured with his arrangement. Great host and great place.
